Mother’s Day Gifts

Mother's Day 1

Mother’s Day looming on Sunday 26th March, I’ve put together a list of lovely gifts for either yourself, your mama or even someone who has provided a particularly important mothering role.

The first beauty gift my mum ever gave me was a No.7 mascara, so something for the lashes just had to top this pressie list. I clearly remember Mum telling me to close my eyes, hold my hands out and then, receiving the white tube. It symbolised a new stage in growing up, and marked the beginning of my love for all things makeup.

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara (£19) is both an eyelash treatment and mascara, a multi-tasking all-in-one beauty buy. The bit that attracted me as a busy mama was their ‘Wake Up and Go’ tagline, and I can tell you this mascara is very easy to apply. Also infused with caffeine, adding growth stimulant-infused va-va-voom to lashes, I found my new Eyeko tube to be an excellent lengthening product. Ensuring a gorgeous natural effect, it doesn’t clump or create an overly thick lash look.

The bonus selling point here though, has to be its growth-promoting formula, also containing amino acids for extra strengthening help. Assisting with maintaining lash resilience via nourishment and Biotin thickening power, I’m going to continue use for further results. Plus, it doesn’t smudge at all. Always a bonus for someone who actively avoids the panda look.

It goes without saying that an easy (and frankly essential) Mother’s Day option is some time out, for which my next gift ideas are perfect: a gorgeous new bubble bath, candle, and prosecco.

Introducing the Mini Moderns candle collection and their beautiful Darjeeling Tea & Fig scent (£24)Featuring an exotic 70s inspired print, and delicious blend of tea and fresh green fig, this candle smells divine. Part of the new Mini Moderns home fragrance range, details are an ode to the brand’s classic wallpaper designs. Whitby and Pavilion are the other two patterns in the collection, which also includes wash bags and diffusers.

Paired with Aldi’s Valdobbiadene Prosecco Spumante Superiore DOCG (£7.99), the relaxing duo will add both fizz and refreshment. I’ve long since been a fan of this superb prosecco, as it tastes sparkly and sweet, just as a bottle should. Finishing with some bubble bath in the form of Argan + Moroccan Spice Moisture Rich Foam Bath (£5.95), which is available at Waitrose.

A warm and enveloping bubble bath, this Argan + soak is a blend of five oils, including argan itself. Leaving skin moisturised and ready for rest, I really like the exotic packaging too. Brightening notes of cardamon and patchouli are an added bath-time bonus.

Finally, everyday luxuries can often be overlooked, and Murad Rejuvenating AHA Hand Cream (£24) ticks this gifting box nicely. Soothing and smoothing, the nourishing cream offers a rich, plumping effect. Plus, it works towards rejuvenating skin tone and the appearance of wrinkles. Applying hand cream as I wind down before bed has become an evening ritual, so I’m convinced any mamas will appreciate the thought of a little extra TLC. This AHA Hand Cream is definitely a number to add into your Murad repertoire.

Excuse me, while I go and drink fizz in a bubble bath with candles, slathering on mascara and gorgeous hand cream. What do you mean, it’s not Mother’s Day yet?
