Fashion month is in full swing, with London Fashion Week finishing today and Milan about to begin.
So far blurred beauty is big news, from flushed cheeks to dishevelled makeup and mascara applied as though slept in. Offset against a stained lip, think laid-back and carefree. Teamed with tousled hair, bed head also appears to be coming back. In terms of wearable trends, here are a couple of my standout favourites across the hair and nail trends emerging from fashion week catwalks for AW17:
The Frosted French at Sophia Webster by ORLY
As detailed by Rebecca Jade Wilson, Lead Nail Technician at ORLY; “Sophia Webster’s theme for her presentation this season is ice queens so I wanted to create a nail look reflecting this. I worked closely with Sophia to choose ORLY’s Rose Coloured Glasses as the base colour, as this is a pink-tinted clear gloss which enhances the natural nail colour. I looked at the collection and saw plenty of snow-like textures along with iridescent fabrics, so I added a frosted touch of white glitter to the tips of nails to finish off the look, creating ‘The Frosted French’.”
The Rebellious Fringe at Mark Fast by Catwalk TIGI
A clean and slick low ponytail with a playful rebellious fringe. Combined to create romantic softness with a masculine edge. This look translates seamlessly from catwalk to reality for wearable glamour.
Maria Kovacs, TIGI European Session Director explains, “This season Mark Fast’s collection is really romantic but it has a young edge to it. I wanted to strike a balance with the hair we created. Mark described the collection as a young girl who has lots of facets to her personality, she has a romantic side but she has this rebellious side, and so we tried to combine the two with the hair”.
