Brand new to skincare brand Murad is their Retinol Youth Renewal Serum.
Priced at £65 for a 30ml pump bottle, this latest Murad product aims to beat dryness and irritation. Primarily an anti-ageing serum, retinol is the potent wonder ingredient, making for best results when used at night. If you are wary of any sensitivity, as I sometimes am, you can in fact use the Retinol Youth Renewal Serum every other night.
My Murad newbie arrived in the post for review a couple of weeks ago and I’m particularly impressed with the retinol inclusion. A fast-acting component, the Retinol Tri-Active Technology is exclusive to Dr Murad and also features Time-Released Retinol and a Retinol Booster. Working hard to minimise fine lines and wrinkles, the difference is visible after a couple of weeks.
For post-cleansing use, apply the serum before moisturiser. I always love a relaxing night-time skincare regime and this certainly adds a little luxe appeal. The flash of lime green across the serum bottle hints at a strong dose of sunshine. Or, that’s what I’m telling myself anyway.
An innovative skincare addition, the aforementioned Tri-Active Technology formula enables a consistent release of retinol over time. With the injection of Murad’s Retinol Booster, this means skin is more receptive to the overall benefits too.
Other significant serum ingredients are swertia flower extract which aids regeneration and hyaluronic acid spheres. Hyaluronic acid is famous for plumping skin and is definitely something to look out for when shopping anti-ageing creams and serums. Creating a smoother surface, it has added much-needed hydration to my face. Complete with a light, silky texture, skin doesn’t feel overwhelmed and a little bit goes a long way.
With spring just around the corner, a seasonal shift is as good a time as any to switch up your skincare regime. Specifically designed to target and repair, I see this serum as an efficient way to replenish tired skin and revitalise it in time for summer warmth.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum is available to buy from leading spas and salons nationwide, as well as selected John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams stores.
