3 Top AW16 Style Trends

Autumn/winter is easily my favourite style season. Snuggling up with knits, throwing on some sparkle and grabbing a scarf or ten to layer up; I’m really not sure you can go wrong.

Looking to the fashion looks predicted at AW16 fashion month, I’ve rounded up the top three style trends coming your way this winter…

Velvet

Whether you fancy a velvet dress, coat or accessories, you can add in a subtle nod to the trend or fully embrace this opulent fabric. Velvet always screams party season, with gorgeous dresses popping up all over the place. Daniel Footwear also have some fabulous heels on offer, as featured in the pic above.

Priced at £22.99, a velvet item which really stands out is this green dress by Zara. You may not think the shade is your colour or style, but the nude tone trim neutralises proceedings and it could be teamed with tights, leather leggings, heels or boots. Plus, those thin straps are in keeping with the firm 90s moment sweeping our fashion world.

Galaxy

Think embellishment and you’ve got this one nailed; from stars to sparkle and night sky detail. I’m loving bodysuits again at the moment, and have found a fave at ASOS. The Body with Scattered Embellishment is £40 and would look equally wowser worn under a leather pinafore as with casual jeans.

Alternatively, star print accessories are a definite winner. Just make sure you indulge in some space-themed chocolate too. Milky Way, anyone?

Prince of Wales Check

Check never fails to tick those style boxes, especially via winter wool coats, cardigans, skirts, trousers and jackets. La Redoute have some very chic offerings, such as their Prince of Wales Check Jacket with Button Fastening, which is currently £57. Scarves in this print make a strong sartorial statement, if you love a good layer like me.
