ILOVESKIN Scar Oil

As a beauty writer and editor, I’m always on the hunt for new must-have products, so when ILOVESKIN got in touch I was keen to hear more.

Founder Danielle is a trained naturopath and launched the brand’s first product a month ago. The Scar Oil not only speeds up the healing process, it also reduces scar formation. As well as focusing on scars, the oil can be used on the face and as a skincare saviour, or on cuts and bumps the kids may have.

Basically a bit of a multi-tasker, the bottle is handbag-sized and can be used on the go. I love the smell of this beauty buy, with 100% natural ingredients including; rosehip, calendula, vetiver, lavender, sage and rosemary.

I’m a firm believer that if you’re going to get stretchmarks, you will, no matter how many lotions and potions you can get your hands on. Despite slathering myself with oils throughout both pregnancies, I did in fact succumb to the stretchmark curse. Most annoyingly, first time round they didn’t arrive until about 40 weeks, at which point the midwife rather (un)helpfully pointed them out to me.

All that said, it will benefit you to be armed with a product such as this if you are concerned about stretchmarks, to soften and soothe the skin. And apart from anything else, the healing properties of the Scar Oil make you feel in control and as though you may be helping with those pesky marks.

Something Danielle also told me is that you have 6-12 months before a scar matures, which is the optimum window to use an oil. I had an operation just before Christmas and have been using the Scar Oil on my scars for a couple of weeks. I’ve definitely seen a difference and have felt a change in both the feeling and appearance during that time.

This Scar Oil is one to add to your beauty cabinet for lots of different reasons, and ILOVESKIN are definitely a brand to keep an eye out for.

ILOVESKIN Scar Oil is priced at £19.20 for 20mls.
