Bronzing Glow & Summer Shimmer Beauty Buys

This last week has been rainy, grim and grey. So, I’ve been brightening things up in the beauty department with some new bronzer and glow foundation.

As my skin is a bit pale I’m wary of full-on bronzing unless I have a decent tan. My new Clarins favourite combines bronzing and blusher tones of terracotta and apricot, with highlighting properties too.

Always a fan of multi-taskers, it is also perfect to do metallic eyeshadow. Plus, the compact is pretty big so will last for absolutely ages. Part of their new Sunkissed Summer Make-Up Collection, you need to look out for this limited edition Bronzing & Blush Compact priced at £30.

Next on the list is the Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation, which is £35 for 30ml. 10 shades are available for you to try, and the foundation is a smooth, weightless formula ideal for a lighter summer product.

I regularly wake up to tired skin and this one adds an instant glow due to its multi-reflective pigments. The texture is silky, and you squeeze drops out of a pipette to use. The Electrolyte Balance System ensures the serum-based foundation isn’t watery, with it literally gliding onto skin.

At the risk of sounding like a cheesy beauty ad, friends even commented on the difference in my skin. Which is testament to its brilliance and frankly, good enough for me. Alongside the bronze and blush compact and new foundation, I’ve been popping Stila Smudge Pot in the champagne-y Kitten shade on my lids. The shimmery, creamy product is quick and easy to apply and doubles up as an eyeliner.

For a shimmer which isn’t at the same end of the price spectrum, Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator (£11.99) is a highlighter that adds luminosity to skin. Mix with foundation or dot onto cheekbones, under brow bones, on the cupid’s bow and anywhere else that needs a little lift.

That’s me summer ready, via my make-up bag…
