Conquering Cultural Stress by Dr Murad

Murad Conquering Cultural Stress - Book

Dr Murad, world-renowned dermatologist and founder of Murad skincare, recently released a new book, Conquering Cultural Stress The Ultimate Guide to Anti-Aging and Happiness. I’ve already spoken about switching my phone off a bit before bed and trying to have a phone-free day, so when this book landed in my lap I was eager to investigate.

We are definitely living in an age of digital dependency, and I for one am a sucker for refusing to switch off. I’ve felt anxiety and restlessness as a result and totally struggle with striving for time to just be. This brilliant book is an uplifting and liberating read, transporting you away from the constant chaos of everyday life.

Dr Howard Murad says, “Perfectionism leads to pessimism! The latest science is pointing to perfectionism as a risk factor for disease in the same way as obesity and using tobacco products. Striving for perfection is a setup for failure. Some of us walk around with a keen sense of who we are and what we want to become in life, letting the imperfections be irrelevant. And some of us feel less certain of who we are and continually struggle to find those answers as we try to be perfect.”

A massive fan of Murad skincare, their range is so in tune with our needs, clearly as its founder is a dermatologist. It’s the 10 years of working with patients and conducting research which has led Dr Murad down the path of his 8th book. Listing 3 ways to seek anti-aging and happiness, Conquering Cultural Stress is a fascinating step-by-step guide.

I love the notion of putting aside out quest for perfectionism, and allowing ourselves to accept who we are without this fight. I also find it absolutely amazing that Dr Murad found diet and exercise not to be the keys to anti-ageing, but lower levels of cultural stress. So we cut that down, and shave the years off? Count me in.

Conquering Cultural Stress The Ultimate Guide to Anti-Aging and Happiness RRP £12.95.

  1. Love this and it’s so true, digital dependency can mean being less connected to others and as we both know, can affect well being and sleep, it’s about achieving balance or trying to as best as possible, thanks for this super post lovely x
