Although it’s only August there seems to be a hint of Autumn in the air. Colder mornings, a new school term beckoning, and the September issue of Vogue landing on the doormat all make for a bit of next season wardrobe planning. With the presence of cosy chunky knits and beautiful boots gradually becoming more prominent in the shops, this is easily my favourite style season.
That is after Summer bizarrely returns for a week at the beginning of October ensuring shiny new knitwear is red hot, and not in a stylish way. Talking of rosy cheeks, step forward colour of the moment: pink. Top of the wish list is a short woollen overcoat from Zara, a double-breasted pastel number sure to make this seasonal shade sparkle.
Planning the winter wardrobe in advance also means there’s time to snap up a last minute sale bargain, like these sleek Boden colour block points, a steal at £20.70. Worn now minus tights or teamed with black opaques when the temperatures plummet, they are a monochrome must-have.
