Three years ago Zumba Fitness launched the Party in Pink campaign as an active attempt to fight breast cancer. Zumba Fitness raises money through Zumbathon events and the sale of special edition Party in Pink apparel, with all funds gained going towards a Zumba Global Research Grant for Breast Cancer Prevention.
As a fellow Geordie and mama, I like many others felt hugely inspired by Michelle Heaton’s incredibly brave decision to speak out about her discovery that she carries the BRCA-2 gene. This shocking find meant Michelle had an 80% chance of developing breast cancer so she therefore chose to undergo a double mastectomy. Fitness fanatic Michelle has since become ambassador for Zumba’s Party in Pink charity campaign, spreading the word about breast cancer awareness and empowering women with a new form of fitness along the way.
To commemorate October being Breast Cancer Awareness month those party people at Zumba Fitness are offering one lucky reader a fantastic goody bag containing two tops, a pair of bottoms and some wristbands and bracelets. All you have to do is email me via my contact page, stating your favourite piece from the pictured Party in Pink collection . The winner will be drawn at random on Monday. Good luck!
You can join the fight and locate your nearest Party in Pink Zumbathon event or check out the limited edition Party in Pink line over at www.partyinpink.com.
